ElectionAccess.org is an online resource center that offers information supporting and encouraging political participation by people with disabilities. Founded in 1998 and renovated in 2015, it is one of the world’s first and only free resources dedicated to disability rights and political participation.

There are many different types of materials available on ElectionAccess.org, including:

  • Examples of inclusive voter education, training materials, and assistive devices (link)
  • Information about the laws affecting political participation in each country (link)
  • Reports, manuals, and publications about disability rights and political participation (link)

These resources can be used by researchers, disability rights leaders, government officials, and civil society members in a variety of ways. For example, election management officials could review examples of voter education materials to see what has been done and how it could be improved. Alternatively, disability rights leaders can search through international and national laws to learn what their country or region has committed to implementing, or if there are national laws that do not follow international best practices for disability rights.

ElectionAccess.org is managed by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), an international nonprofit organization that supports electoral democracy and the right of all citizens to participate in free and fair elections.
